UD x BBC Radio 4

On 31st December, Flames Collective were invited to perform for the BBC Radio 4 Today programme, guest edited by technologist, CEO, author and UD Chair Designate, Dr Anne-Marie Imafidon

UD Director, Pamela McCormick, set the scene (24 minutes in), discussing UD’s work, Talent House and music education, with Flames closing the show with their take on ‘Proud Mary’

You can listen back to the Today programme in full here.

Anne-Marie first appeared on Today aged 11, when she spoke to the then reporter Edward Stourton, about taking her GCSEs early. The theme of her programme is opportunity. Opportunity to engage, explore and try. From funding a business, to exploring politics in a modern form to what you eat. Her programme also includes an interview with Dr Gladys West. Dr West is one of the people whose work was instrumental in developing the mathematics behind GPS.

Thanks again to Anne-Marie and BBC Radio 4 for having us!

Check the behind-the-scenes clip for more vocal wonderment.

Flames Collective recorded ‘Proud Mary’ originally for the soundtrack to the film ‘Rocks’, directed by Sarah Gavron. Listen below on Spotify.
