Episode 9: A Deep Dive with Super Producer Jake Gosling

Released last week, in this compelling episode of The Be Unstoppable Podcast, host Ben Wynter sits down with renowned producer Jake Gosling to explore his remarkable journey in the music industry.

This episode is a treasure trove of insights for music enthusiasts and industry aspirants alike, offering a rare glimpse into the life and mind of a producer who has shaped some of the most memorable songs of our time.

Jake delves into a pivotal moment in his life—being fired from a job—that unexpectedly set the stage for his illustrious career. He reflects on his early work within the grime scene, collaborating with artists such as Wiley and Wretch 32, and recounts his serendipitous meeting with Ed Sheeran. Their partnership led to the creation of chart-topping hits, culminating in the extraordinary achievement of a double diamond certification for ‘Thinking Out Loud‘, signifying over 20 million sales.

The conversation also touches on personal loss, as Jake opens up about the passing of Liam Payne. This tragedy has fuelled his advocacy for enhanced mental health support for artists within record labels. He emphasises the significance of building genuine connections as an aspiring songwriter or producer and shares his vision for his new venture, Hotel Records—a joint project with Atlantic Records aimed at nurturing emerging talent.

Jake provides a thoughtful analysis of the current state of the music industry, proposing ways record labels can create a fairer and more equitable environment for songwriters. He also offers his take on the rise of AI in music production and its potential implications for the future.
