Rude Kid: Biography
Rude Kid is widely regarded as one of the most successful producer/DJs to emerge from the UK grime scene. Responsible for some of the most recognisable instrumentals in modern grime, his hard-hitting and forward-thinking sound has helped shape the genre while moving seamlessly between styles including UK garage, house, hip-hop and electronic music.
Across his career he has collaborated with some of the UK’s most influential artists including Skepta, JME, Wiley, Ghetts, Giggs, Dave and Bugzy Malone, while also building an extensive catalogue of his own releases that have collectively amassed over 60 million streams on Spotify.
Rude Kid spent eight years hosting a weekly grime show on Kiss FM, becoming one of the leading voices championing the genre on national radio while continuing to develop his career as both a producer and DJ.
Alongside his work with artists, he released the single “Essex Girls” during his deal with Warner Music Group, which went Silver in the UK and has surpassed 35 million streams on Spotify.
As a DJ he has performed at major festivals including Glastonbury, Wireless, Outlook, NASS, Lovebox, Reading & Leeds and Boardmasters, while also playing some of Ibiza’s most iconic venues including Ushuaïa Ibiza and Amnesia Ibiza. His DJ career has taken him around the world, performing internationally across Australia, United States, Czech Republic, Sweden, Romania and many more.
Alongside his artist career, Rude Kid has also produced music for global campaigns and film projects, working with major brands including Nike, Adidas, Tommy Hilfiger, Puma and Beats by Dre, as well as campaigns featuring Anthony Joshua and David Beckham.
From pirate radio to global stages, Rude Kid continues to push the sound of UK electronic music forward while inspiring the next generation of producers and DJs.
