What’s On… Emerging Artist Residency October

UD are proud to announce the next two artists taking part in the all-new Emerging Artist Residency — a dedicated programme designed to champion the next wave of musical talent via complimentary studio access. This October we welcome Beckah and emre

Beckah is a singer and songwriter from South East London, who weaves R&B, folk, jazz, and afro influences into something intimate and unhurried. Her songs often begin as poems; quiet confessions or questions turned melody, which explore love, loss, faith, and the small reckonings of everyday life. With a tone reminiscent of the likes of Jazmine Sullivan, Angie Stone and Tracy Chapman, Beckah sings with a timeless depth that feels familiar and yet in constant pursuit.

Emre Dilen Nalbantoğlu, is an emerging artist who has been making waves across the London music scene for the past few years.

Writing music since the age of eleven, his indie pop sound blends ballad and jazz influences – inspired by artists such as Rex Orange County and Matt Maltese. emre is a recent music graduate of the prestigious BRIT School, known for producing some of the UK’s most successful performers.

In early 2024, emre released a music video for his original track ‘ribs’, which gained traction across all major social media platforms.

emre has performed alongside Flames Collective with RAYE at Wembley Stadium for the Capital Summertime Ball 2024, broadcast live to millions on ITV. He has also joined Flames for headline slots at the Barbican Centre and appeared at several major festivals including All Points East and The Great Escape

More recently, he was featured on Season 3 of Channel 4’s acclaimed TV show The Piano, where he showcased his unique blend of heartfelt lyrics and distinctive indie pop artistry. Alongside this, emre has headlined Pizza Express Live (Piano Lounge) in Covent Garden, having delivered an intimate acoustic set of originals and covers. He is also set to perform at Royal Albert Hall this November as a finalist in the Futuremakers competition with artist Kynda.

emre regularly performs across London- often joined by his band or accompanying himself on keys- bringing vulnerability, personality, and emotional honesty to every performance.
