What’s On… Emerging Artist Residency July

UD announces the next two artists taking part in the all-new Emerging Artist Residency — a dedicated programme designed to champion the next wave of musical talent via complimentary studio access. This July we welcome Tamara and Orinayo

TAMARA

TAMARA is a US-born, East London-raised artist and producer blending R&B, pop, and hip-hop influences to create story-driven songs rooted in identity and emotion.

Beginning her creative journey in musical theatre at The BRIT School, she discovered a passion for songwriting and is now studying Music Production & Engineering at Berklee College of Music – crafting a distinct sound while championing more women in production.

Her music captures coming-of-age experiences through groovy tracks. With a theatre-trained pen and a digital diary aesthetic, Tamara showcases vulnerability and boldness, with heartfelt lyrics and melodies that resonate deeply. Inspired by pop artists and the storytelling power of musicals, she brings a clear vision and unique voice to every project. Watch this space!

Orinayo

Orinayo is a Nigerian-born artist based in the UK, weaving together elements of Afro Pop, Afro Soul, and Afro R&B into a sound shaped by the likes of Bryson Tiller and Odeal. His brand captures a smooth, confident “lover boy with an edge” persona, expressed through lyrics that explore connection, growth, and vulnerability. With music rich in rhythm, emotion, and subtle intimacy, Orinayo creates an atmosphere that feels both deeply personal and soulfully resonant.
