UD Live Room Sessions: Shantéh

Our seventh UD Live Session comes from the incredible Shantéh, performing ‘Breath’, out now, the lead single from her forthcoming summer album…

About: SHANTÉH, artist, songwriter and producer from South London is no stranger to the music industry, having provided vocals and penmanship for stars such as Emeli Sandé, Lukas Graham, Brandon Beal and Ann Nesby. She’s one of the lead vocalists for South East London Afro Jazz collective, Steam Down and a lead vocalist for the UK Colombian jazz collective, Mestizo.

Being of Jamaican heritage, SHANTÉH grew up listening to a lot of reggae, lovers rock and jungle which has influenced her sound, some of which shines through especially with her collaborations with dynamic London Jungle duo, 4am Kru. But she primarily gained her musical styling from growing up in church and singing Gospel music. This has helped her to create her own sound which she has coined as Hybrid.

Her previous releases were celebrated with sold out shows in London and have allowed her to create with incredible artists. With a new album on the way she hopes it will give hope to many and inspire people to create in ways like never before. The lead single Breath, from her upcoming summer album, is out now!
