If you listen to RAYE’s epic new single, ‘Genesis’, you might just hear some voices you’re familiar with – it’s our very own Flames Collective on backing vocals!

Having recorded the track for the BRIT Awards, RAYE decided to add the choir elements to the final master cut, as she explained to Capital Radio.

RAYE also told The Independent that the track, a seven-minute epic laid out in three acts, is at once “a prayer and a plea and a cry for help”.
“There is a Nina Simone quote, ‘It is an artist’s duty to reflect the times’. This quote is everything to me and I believe the best way I can try to do this is through my art and my music,” she said.

Speaking on behalf of Flames Collective, vocalist Baaba said: “It’s honestly like a dream come true for us. As we’re all so young, it’s truly an incredible opportunity and RAYE has been consistently putting us on. And for us to have worked on a song that’s a genuine piece of art makes this even more special…”
