UD Low Down: Flames Collective x RAYE @ All Points East, 23rd August 2025

Flames Collective joined RAYE for her headline set at All Points East on Saturday 23rd August 2025. Backing vocalist, Angel Lunda, gives us the behind the scenes exclusive from a very dusty Victoria Park…

I’m Angel Lunda, a 17-year-old artist who joined Flames Collective in April 2022.

Being given the opportunity to perform with Flames Collective alongside RAYE for her headline show at All Points East Festival was truly an earned blessing for every individual who had taken part.

The Flames Collective are fortunate to have worked with RAYE prior to the All Points East festival, including sold-out shows at the Royal Albert Hall accompanied by the Heritage Orchestra, BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Reading & Leeds, the BRIT Awards and more.

Having participated in all of these shows from 2023 to now, while being the youngest on the team for quite a while, has taught me multiple different things; how to carry myself in professional settings, the complexities of work which occurs behind the scenes, as well as the extent of the hard work which is put into producing a quality show performance. Constantly immersing myself with such high level and driven peers had only pushed me to work harder and elevate my work ethic subconsciously. The intensity and commitment each member displayed has only grown with time.

From the long hours of rehearsing to the performance, to not only experience THAT but to witness the growth of a hardworking and talented artist like RAYE, first hand, for the past two years, has been truly awe inspiring to say the least.

@flamescollective All roads lead to @Raye “WHERE IS MY HUSBAND” ????????this refrain hits everytime #raye #wherethehellismyhusband #rayechoir #escapism #allpointseast ♬ original sound – FLAMES

A week before the show we had four rehearsals, two of which took place at Malcom Ryan Studios. We had been taught choreography by Maureen Moores which was quite exciting because it was something new for everyone on the team. Despite this, we adapted very quickly and managed to master the choreography given to us while also being able to have fun in the process.

@flamescollective Having fun doing some choreography ????for “Where the Hell is my Husband” @Raye ❤️❤️ #wherethehellismyhusband #raye #allpointseast #escapism #rayechoir ♬ original sound – FLAMES

In that same week we rehearsed the set list which included two of RAYE’s soon to be released tracks; ‘Where Is My Husband‘ and ‘I Know You’re Hurting‘. As we were all in favour of the newly add tracks, our intrigue naturally enabled us to learn the new songs quite fast.

On August 23rd, we arrived prepared for All Points East at 9.30am, going through sound checks and rehearsals. In between (the call time wasn’t until 9.15pm) myself and a few members performed alongside Absolutely for her song, ‘I Just Don’t Know You Yet‘, as well as watching Amma’s set beforehand. RAYE and her sisters aren’t playing! Once 9:15pm hit, we hit the stage with RAYE and the Heritage Orchestra, putting on (I think it’s safe to say), a truly amazing show.

@flamescollective This was one for the books????‍????massive thank you to @Raye & Team for having US????❤️ #allpointseast #rayechoir #raye #escapism #Raye ♬ Escapism. – RAYE & 070 Shake

Thanks, as always, to RAYE and her team for believing in us! Thanks to UD, Andy and Kadi for their support.
