MOLLY ELIZABETH ANNOUNCES DEBUT EP ‘CRUEL INTENTIONS’ OUT ON 26TH NOVEMBER
Premiering on DJ Ace’s R&B show on BBC 1Xtra, new British artist Molly Elizabeth releases her second single ‘Cruel Intentions’, produced by female producer and artist Lauren Faith (KAYTRANADA). Already gaining support from BBC Introducing, “Essex’s next pop star in the making”, ‘Cruel Intentions’ is the title track from her 5-track debut EP, set for release on 26th November. A collaboration with Lauren Faith, the pair met last year when they began sharing vocals and beats and started a creative relationship, one of mentorship and friendship. Lauren’s neo-soul and jazz influenced background partnered with Molly’s inimitable ability to capture the harsh emotion of teenage breakups and soaring vocal range has proved to be an incredible force.
“‘Cruel Intentions’ is a song about being fooled by people and realising that not everyone has your best interests at heart. You grow when you take yourself out of bad situations, no matter how hard it might be” – says Molly
As heard in i-D’s Best New Music playlist and Popjustice’s New Music Friday Edit, Molly Elizabeth is the latest in a long line of UD Music alumni making herself heard.
Finessing her artistry since her early teens, over the last 18-months, Molly’s work has gone on to be included on the soundtrack for Theresa Ikoko’s BAFTA award winning film, Rocks. Having joined the UD Flames Collective, which she credits for building her confidence, Molly soon began expressing herself, musically, on a new level.
