ROOT 73 is a community arts organisation based in Hackney anchored around a physical community arts hub and recording studio. ROOT 73 was built by and for the local community. Our approach places heavy emphasis on community activity and on the social importance of working together for a common goal, while also bringing together all the necessary elements needed to help artists break into the music industry.

Asher Kosher Asher co-founded Root 73 and The Silhouettes Project, and leads the initiative to find musicians for the artist development program. He is a talented MC going by the name of Asher Kosher, and has produced countless tracks and artworks for the platform. He often runs the subsidised sessions and is keen on developing new talent. Asher also works as a consultant for 0207 Def Jam & Atlantic Records, as well co managing ENNY.

Jaden Bonsu Community activist, rapper and youth worker, Jaden Bonsu uses his lived experience hailing from South London to create more cohesion through working with communities and in the music industry. Co-founder of The Silhouettes Project and one of the Directors of community label Root 73, Jaden has managed to create community music projects that have received national recognition. Also known as Eerf Evil‘ (‘Live Free’ backwards), Eerf combines his experiences growing up in challenging environments with a unique way of telling stories that provide an insight – exploring the rationale behind our decisions in life.
