UD are happy to announce the next artist taking part in our Emerging Artist Residency – a dedicated programme designed to champion the next wave of musical talent via complimentary studio access. This May, we invite Oliver Parikian, a South London based multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and jazz pianist to step into the spotlight at Talent House…
Having played piano since age seven, Oliver blends his jazz training with his love for 80s Pop-Rock and modern British Indie, creating an honest, nostalgic sound, reminiscent of artists such as Phil Collins, Djo, and The 1975.
Oliver is a member of Tomorrow’s Warriors, an organisation through which he has had the chance to learn from some of the greats of the UK Jazz scene, including artists such as Maddy Coombs, Sultan Stevenson, and Denys Baptiste. He has also had the opportunity to learn piano and composition with Jay Verma (Olivia Dean, Sam Ryder, Little Simz).
Oliver has played at venues across London, such as the Spice of Life, Vortex Jazz club, and Ronnie Scott’s, as well as having played at several UK jazz festivals such as A Love Supreme, We Out Here, Cheltenham & London Jazz festivals.
