What’s On… CDR launches second instalment of ‘Out The Box’

Applications are now open for CDR’s ‘Out The Box’ programme, which aims to demystify analogue mixing in professional studios.

Out The Box is a programme run by Create Define Release (CDR) that centres the development of producers and artists within the analogue studio domain. Aspiring producers and artists will receive experience on an analogue desk with a top mixing engineer across some of London’s best music studios – Strongroom Studios, Ten87 and United Development (UD), with support from Arts Council England.

It’s an exciting opportunity for aspiring music makers to hear their music on an analogue studio system and run through the process of a studio mix step by step, while meeting other like minded producers and artists.

The experience will provide producers with 30 seconds of their track mixed, with the ambition to provide exposure to the process of having their music professionally mixed in a studio setting, working alongside a mixing engineer

To expand access, the project is funded on a pay-what-you-can basis for participants, with priority given to demographics currently under-represented. CDR welcomes all producers to apply, but they must be London based, in the surrounding areas or willing to travel to the London based studios.

Applications go live at 10am BST on Wednesday 7 August 2024 via the link HERE.

The programme kicks off on Tuesday 17 September 2024 and continues with evening sessions hosted across the three studios throughout September, October and November.
