Janaya Cowie – Label Manager
Janaya Cowie has privately worked alongside her brother, Wiley, since their teenage years. A consistent presence when it comes to handling business, Janaya has been bearing witness to the grime scene long before it was an established genre. With her role – and years of dedicated secretive grime service – coming more to the fore with the release of Wiley’s 2017 book Eskiboy, Janaya’s since become the force behind Eski Dance. Managing a studio that’s seemingly running 24-7, a record label and events, Janaya boasts a unique perspective on the business and culture of grime, past, present and future.
